Membership Sales Scripts
Outcome Your front desk team will confidently introduce and sell memberships to patients on a daily basis.
Who this is for Receptionists / Clinic Managers
Time required 15 minutes (to read and role-play)
Before you begin You must have your membership tiers designed and configured in Zennor (see Design Your Clinic Membership).
The Rule of Context
Never sell a membership out of nowhere. Always anchor the conversation to the treatment the patient just received or the treatment plan the doctor just recommended.
Step 1: After a patient's treatment
Wait until the patient is at the desk and you are processing their checkout or booking their next appointment.
The Script
Receptionist:
“Before you leave, I wanted to mention that because you come in regularly for [Treatment Name], we have a membership that may work out better for you.”
Patient:
“Oh, really? How does that work?”
Receptionist:
“Instead of paying ₹[Cost] each time you visit, our membership is ₹[Membership Price] per month. It includes your monthly [Treatment Name], plus you get [Benefit 1] and [Benefit 2]. Based on the treatments you're already doing, you'd normally spend around ₹[Total Cost], so this instantly saves you money.”
Step 2: The Doctor's Handoff
A strong clinical handoff makes the membership conversation at the desk much easier.
The Script
Doctor (in the room):
“To get the best results for your skin, I recommend we do this peel once a month for the next four months. Based on the follow-up plan we discussed, the front desk can show you the membership options. You can decide whether one makes financial sense for you.”
Receptionist (at the desk):
“Dr. Sharma mentioned you’re starting the monthly peel protocol. That’s perfect. Our Core Membership is designed exactly for that. It’s ₹2,999 a month and completely covers the peel, plus gives you 10% off your skincare products today.”
Step 3: Upgrading an existing booking
When calling patients to confirm their appointment for the next day, you can plant the seed.
The Script
Receptionist:
“Hi [Patient Name], calling to confirm your HydraFacial tomorrow at 2 PM. Just a quick note—since you're booked for a HydraFacial, you actually qualify for our new membership program which includes this treatment in the membership. I'll show you how it works when you come in tomorrow!”
Step 4: Role-Play Worksheet
You must practice these scripts out loud before trying them on real patients. Use this worksheet during your weekly team meeting.
Scenario 1: The Basic Pitch
- Receptionist (Role A): "Your total for the HydraFacial today is ₹5,000. Before I run your card, did Dr. Sharma mention our new Glow Membership?"
- Patient (Role B): "No, what is it?"
- Receptionist (Role A): "It's exactly for patients like you who come in monthly. It’s ₹2,999 a month and completely covers your HydraFacial, plus gives you 10% off your skincare products today. Shall I apply your payment today toward the membership instead?"
Scenario 2: The Hesitant Patient
- Receptionist (Role A): [Deliver the pitch]
- Patient (Role B): "I don't really want another subscription."
- Receptionist (Role A): "I completely understand! The good thing about this is our cancellation policy is [POLICY]. I can show you the terms before you join. Would you like to just try it for a month to get the discount on your products today?"
What Good Looks Like
- Consistency: The receptionist introduces the membership to 100% of eligible patients at checkout.
- Tone: The pitch feels like a helpful suggestion to save money, not a high-pressure sales tactic.
Numbers to Track
- Pitches per Day: (Manual tally by receptionist)
- New Memberships Sold (Daily): Tracked automatically in your Zennor Admin Panel.
- Conversion Rate: (New Memberships / Pitches)
